With over 70 pro riders in the Park finals it was hard to make the top 12 cut to get a spot in the finals. Even good runs with hard tricks did not always make it. Maxime Charveron rode very well and found original lines on the massive street course. Flairs, whips and handplants were not enough for the finals though and he was stuck on 18th place.
Two places higher up on the qualification ranks we found Ryan Guettler who had already won the dirt comp and got 4th on the miniramp but Ryan could sit out the park finals. Ryan felt pretty sore anyway so it all worked out for him.
Big Money B (aka Alessandro Barbero) qualified in third place and that’s exactly what he got in the finals. He did a triple whip over the box, 3-whipped the smaller box and flipped the spine. Flairs, windshield wipers and non stop tricks on all the ramps on the course got him a podium spot. Alessandro is also pre-qualified for the next Dew Tour stop so you better keep an eye out for him.

The RedBull Bikenight in Trieste, Italy is the biggest BMX/MTB event of the year over there. The 20.000 Euro prize purse, the TV camera’s and a big crowd brings the best out of the riders. Alessandro Barbero got teamed up with Sam Pilgrim (MTB) and together they knocked a few other teams out of the competition in the head to head format.
In the finals Alessandro and his team mate had to battle against Daniel Dhers and Lance McDermott. Although Alessandro and Sam won the Best Team Combo award (a special prize for best synchronized/fun team run), they had to accept a loss against team Rubins. The champagne shower that followed on the podium was tasty.
