Mirraco riders make park finals in France.

Sunday, May 4th, 2008
mco-spinner2.jpgWith 68 Pro riders entering the FISE in France it was tough to make the 20 people cut. The level of riding is so high these days that the difference between making it and not making the finals is tiny. Dave Rytell entered his first contest since he got picked up by Mirraco a few years ago at the Local Exposure tour and was the only Mirraco rider to not make the pro finals. Maxime Charveron didn’t have the best run he’s ever had so there’s room for improvement there. Mike Laird lost his bike over the fence and it fell into the water. He picked up Mirra’s ride and pulled every trick he wanted to do on it. Good enough for 16th place in qualifying. Dave Mirra placed fifth and made his presence known by pulling the no-handed-360-backflip first try. The crowd (an estimated 100.000 total) went nuts. Alessandro “Trick machine” Barbero did his program and used the riding he did recently at Woodward to his advantage. 3rd in qualifying went to Mike Spinner. This should make for an interesting final round tonight. Check back soon for an update.

mco-mirra-helmet.jpgThe Mirraco posse is big over in Montpellier, France for the 12th edition of the Festival Des Sports Extremes (FISE). Not only did the riders show up, the bikes made it as well which is good news. Dave Mirra is here, Mike Spinner, Dave Rytell, Mike Laird, Maxime Charveron, Alessandro Barbero and Ryan Guettler is coming in on Sunday night after finishing up a show in Napels, Italy for one of his co-sponsors. mco-laird.jpgHe will join the rest of the crew to go to England on Monday for a little trip over there. Here are a few photos of the Mirraco riders for viewing pleasure and to get an idea of what’s going on in the South of France at the moment. A big thanks to Mirraco Germany (Marc von Varel) and Mirraco UK (Paul Lonsdale) for coming out. Check back in for more. mco-spinner.jpg mco-rytell1.jpg mco-max-fise.jpg mco-mirra-flipx.jpgmco-barbero.jpg

mco-guettler-7-jomopro.jpgmco-gute.jpgRyan Guettler had a great 2005 where he won both the Dew Park and Dirt titles. But his long list of contest results doesn’t stop there. Wikipedia keeps track of all that stuff they could start adding his 2008 results because Ryan hasn’t slown down yet placing second at the T-Mobile Extreme Playgrounds and winning the Best 360 contest over in Germany. More to come, we’re sure about that. MORE
