Mike Spinner featured in Albe’s advertisement

Wednesday, May 21st, 2008

mco-spinner-albes.jpgIf Mike Spinner is looking for a tune-up for his bike he not only has the help from the Mirraco team. He can call up Albe’s BMX Mail-order and give them a high five over the phone in return for some parts that will make his ride like new again.

Spinner likes to join the Albe’s road trips from time to time when he’s not too busy traveling all over the world. Check his latest ad from Albe’s by clicking on the image.

mco-ridebmx-guettler.jpgWhen you go on a trip you not only ride but take photos and possibly film part of the happenings. Over on the RIDEBMX.com website they have some new photo material from the recent Mirraco trip that Mike Spinner, Ryan Guettler, Dave Rytell, Mike Laird, and bossman Dave Mirra made to London, England.

Hit the following link to check it out.

Mirraco in the UK

Dave Mirra’s DC Shoe Co. advertisement.

Monday, May 19th, 2008

mco-dave-dc1.jpgmco-dave-dc-ad.jpgFor the latest DC advertisement Dave Mirra climbed on top of this huge roll-in ramp. Being on top itself is scary, even riding down on the rough wood is sketchy but Dave takes it one step further and tailwhips in. For a double page spread advertisement you give it a little extra. Dave did and survived.

New school Mirraco riders meet BMX legends in China

Sunday, May 18th, 2008

mco-max-mike-nigel-China.jpgMaxime Charveron, Nigel Sylvester and Mike Spinner received an invitation by Nike to go to China for the Lightning Bolts number plate art show and an Olympic NIKE presentation. The three Mirraco riders rode a street set up that was built inside a giant tank.

lb-crew.jpgLater towards the evening Eddie Fiola and Brian Blyther joined the session in the abandoned petroleum tank in the 798 Arts District of Beijing. Seeing as these riders were two of the pioneers of BMX freestyle it’s fair to say that the New School met the Old School in China.

Spinner antics from China; Demos in a tank, eating pig brains and toilet holes on the floor.

mco-china-nigel-pig-brains.jpgSo we did a demo yesterday in a tank! I can’t even explain it. But because I rode all day I never took any pictures besides the tank itself from the outside ha ha ha. Today was really mellow and I’ve been needing sleep for 2 weeks so today was the day to catch up.

mco-china-maxime-pig-brains.jpgNigel and I had some interviews to do in the morning then right after that I took a long nap. Then we went to a wild dinner where they served pig brains. Nigel Sylvester and Maxime Charveron ate it. I was just a spectator for that ha ha ha.

Today we are gonna ride some street. I’ll keep you guys posted.

Ryan Guettler update: Busy Travels and a New Addition!

mco-guettler-update1.jpgWhat’s up guys! I’m starting to tell that the session is kicking in because I’m starting to get real busy, I’ll fill you in on what’s been going on and what’s coming up. It all starts with Jomo Pro comp in Joplin. It was really fun and I placed 7th which was cool. I had a run going and then got a flat and ended up riding Ryan Nyquist’s bike which rode a lot different than mine… so I didn’t do all of my tricks, but it was cool to do a nose pick nofooter in my run… hahahaha.

mco-guettler-best-trick.jpgAfter that comp I went to Germany for a T-Mobile dirt jumping comp. I placed 2nd behind Nyquist and 1st in the best trick comp. The best trick comp was cool because you had to do a 360. Nyquist did a rocket double truck and Ben Wallace got super close to a 360 double down side whip. I pulled a 360 tire grap backflip and won a new phone which is meant to be soooo prototype I can’t even have it for a few more weeks. hahahha. The craziest thing about Germany was how jet lagged me and Ryan N got!!!!! Going to bed at 10 pm and waking up at 2am staring at the ceiling and watching world news the day of the comp is never fun…

mco-guettler-update4-cancan.jpgFrom Germany I went home for a week and rode the backyard ramps (if you have not seen check out Vital BMX for the video). While I was home I bought another English bulldog called CAN CAN. She is super rad and her and DAGGER play all day long. After a week home I got a flight out to Italy for a VANS demo with Bucky Lasek, Josh Boardn and Coco on a 6 foot mini that Nate Wessel built. Anything I do with Vans is a good time so thanks to Jerry Badders and Rambo for taking me around Italy for a week.

mco-guettler-update2-london.jpgFrom Italy to France for the after party of 2008 Fist comp, I missed the comp but enjoyed France for one day and the after party… me and Mike Spinner were ripping up the dance floor. Good times! Next day took a hung over flight to London where I enjoyed a good 4 days with the Mirra Co team: Mirra, Spinner, Rytell and Laird. We rode a good concrete park and the South banks shooting lots of photos for the next MirraCo catalog.

mco-guettler-update5-hardro.jpgI got sent a rad e-mail about the Hard Rock Cafe. As of now I have 4 glass frames with some personal things in it a Mirraco Black Pearl frame, shoes and helmet. It’s in 4 different Hard Rocks in America, pretty cool I thought.

mco-guettler-update3-southb.jpgNow I’m sitting in the airport ready to go home till the 23rd of May then I’m going home to Australia while I’m there I’ll be checking out the Red Bull down hill comp which looks crazy and then get ready for the first Dew Tour stop in Baltimore. Sorry this was a long one but I’ll update more so I don’t put your eyes through this again…

Peace

Ryan

mco-jmb-bowl1.jpgAnyway I finally found somebody who can take good pictures, so while we were checking out this new bowl a 45 minutes drive from my home, Andrea Rearte has taken these pictures from me. The bowl is medium size but has a huge amount of different lines and the locals made a really good job on that concrete thing.

Spinner arrived in CHINAAAAA!!!!!

Monday, May 12th, 2008

mco-spinner-whopper.jpgThis is the 4th country I’ve been in in 10 days if you count the USA ha ha ha. So Far yesterday I got in from London and I am still feeling the jet-lag. It’s 2:33am here and I’m about to pass out while I’m typing this up.

Today Nigel Sylvester and Maxime Charveron and I were hanging out with BMX Legends as I’m gonna be here for a few days. I’m gonna leave it up in the Air untill the end for a surprise lol. But today we went to see a bunch of things that they are doing for The Olympics. All I am gonna say it is NIKE SHOES and they are putting everything they can into presenting themselves it is amazing.

Tomorrow we are doing a demo which they set up ramps in a Tank. I can’t explain it till I take some pictures and show everybody so check back tomorrow!
