Mirraco riders Alessandro and Maxime at Camp Woodward

Friday, March 21st, 2008

mco-woodward-ale-max.jpgWhen there is 3 feet of snow on the ground or it rains all the time you have got to do something to be able to ride. The ultimate solution is spend some time at Camp Woodward. Alessandro Barbero (Italy) and Maxime Charveron (France) both made it to Woodward East and are having a good time riding with Daniel Dhers, Zack Warden, Axel Juergens, Anthony Napolitan and the other pros who happen to come over to ride.

Maxime is now on his way to New York City for an Animal session and will try to snap some pics for the Mirraco site.

Have fun guys!

Nigel Sylvester

mco-sylvester-nike-ad.jpgRiding for a big company like Nike has its advantages. Getting to design your own shoe, travel around the world doing photo shoots and filming some clips, and getting yourself into magazine ads.

Mirraco riders Nigel Sylvester and Mike Spinner have been enjoying the ride and put in their time too. Here’s the latest NIKE ad featuring Nigel Sylvester.

Drew Hosselton bio in RIDEBMX

Monday, March 17th, 2008

mco-drew-hosselton.jpg19 year old Drew Hosselton from Phoenix, Arizona is on the Mirraco flow program. Smoker Dave writes some good things about Drew in the Bio that he received in the latest Transworld RIDEBMX magazine (May 2008).

Next time you see Drew, ask him to do a Kermit the Frog impression.

New Mirraco ad

Sunday, March 16th, 2008

mco-rytell-ad-mar-08.jpgTo promote the availability of the Fivestar Lite frame Dave Rytell was used in the latest Mirraco ad. Dave goes and is ripping. In the sequence he does a hop to ledge to 360 over and down 15 feet. It’s a good thing that there are visuals in the ad as a description of the move doesn’t tell you much. Rytell rides the Fivestar Lite which it the exact frame that you can buy at your local Mirraco store.

Did Spinner go Platinum in 12 months?

Saturday, March 15th, 2008

mco-spinner-update.jpgHey what’s up guys. So I have been in Greenville for two days now and I have about 3 more days to chill then I am back to Australia for about two weeks. Going to Camberra to hang out with Cam White for 4 days then going to Melbourne on a Nike trip for about a week. Should be a good time.

mco-spinner-update2.jpgFor me the last month has been wild! Pretty much in a plane every 4 days. It’s been amazing but a little tiring I’m not gonna lie. The last 10 days I’ve been In Toronto for the not Metro contest which was pretty crazy for the fact that I went from super good Florida weather to the most freezing weather I’ve ever been in my whole life. It was cool though. Got to meet a bunch of people, had a pretty good time there.

Then I flew to Cali to Meet up with Ryan Guettler and Dave Rytell. We were there for 4 days. It was an awesome trip back in great weather. Rode a bunch of street and a few little concrete parks. I’m about to go to sleep but, I’ll try to keep you guys posted while I’m down UNDER!

mco-gute-video.jpgRyan Guettler was in California for a few days last week and made sure he got a session in at Luke Parslow’s trails. See Ryan do 720-s, 1080-s and superman backflips in the clip that is up on the Vans site.

If you are wondering how his current Black Pearl looks, make sure to check it out.

Fear and Loving in Las Vegas. By Mirraco flow rider Drew Hosselton

Wednesday, March 12th, 2008

mco-drew1.jpgJosh Betley, Kyle Carlson, and I had been toying with the idea of taking an all-street trip to Vegas for a long time. The problem is that Betley and I both drive a couple of junkers which makes going on road trips quite a gamble. After mulling it over we finally decided to send it down to Vegas and cross our fingers we made it there.

mco-drew2.jpgVegas is definitely known for its abundance of concrete parks and wild nightlife. As far as street spots go I had always assumed it was slim pickins’, but that pre-conceived notion was quickly proven wrong. I was actually pretty blown away at how many good spots there were, and since Vegas doesn’t have much of a street scene they are all pretty much untouched.

mco-drew3.jpgThe first spot on the first day started off with some bangers, which definitely set the tone for the rest of the trip. Betley and I were really feeling it on day one and we had a pretty productive day until the weather started getting pretty rough. We opted out of the wind and headed indoors for some Rock Band and some Vegas nightlife.

mco-drew4.jpgDay 2 had a lot more ups and downs. Beltey got wrecked on a gnarly toothpick hanger, and I followed suit and took it trying to magic carpet grind a ledge. Josh who had been feeling pretty salty about getting broke off earlier got in the zone and started making stuff happen. A big ledge ride, opposite toothpick hanger, and a pretty tech hang 5 variation got us all out of the slump we had gotten in after getting broke. By the end of the day we all felt pretty good about the footage we had gotten and decided to pack up and mosey on home to Phoenix.

The drive home was pretty mellow, we stopped off at the Hoover Dam and took a dam picture. We made good time heading home so we stopped off in Wickenburg for some late night Filibertos.

mco-drew5.jpgmco-damn-dam.jpgBy far one of the funnest weekend trips to date. Keep an eye out on VitalBmx for the video. I just bought a van that is a pretty serious road warrior so there will be many more trips like this to come. I’m headed back there this weekend for the Skate City contest, I don’t even think I’m going to bother unpacking.
