Greetings from Down-under! Part two by Mike Spinner

Tuesday, January 22nd, 2008

mco-oz2-a.jpgToday was the second day for visiting a few shops and we did a few demos. It was sweet. Super busy and STOKED Kids! We also met up with Nick Cooper, Richardson and Clint Millar. Then we went to Ryan’s local Park which I loved. It has everything; hips, box jumps, spines, wedges and half of it is ramps the other half is concrete.

I’m about to hit the hay but tomorrow we fly to Sydney and do some touristy stuff for me so I’m stoked.

Transworld RIDEbmx March 2008

Tuesday, January 22nd, 2008

mco-ride-march08.jpgThe March issue of RIDEbmx turns out to be the photo issue. Rob Wise got a rad photo of an icepick grind on a rainbow or something that kids can climb on. The photo was taken by Justin Kosman who used three flashes to make it look like it was summer when the photo was taken.

Mike Spinner got a double page NIKE advertisement and Dave Rytell had his third Mirraco ad on the inside cover. Find the March issue of RIDE at a bookstore today.

Spinner checks in from Down Under

mco-oz4.jpgmco-oz2.jpgGreetings From Down Under! My trip started a few days ago flying from Greenville, NC to Charlotte, NC to LA to Sydney to Brisbane. But lucky for me, on the long 14 hour flight I got upgraded to business class so I was stoked. Pretty much I got a bed and just slept the whole time. When I finally got in, the airlines lost my bike. I was super bummed but it was two days before any demo’s.

Today was the first day of demos and Shop visits. It sucked because I didn’t have my bike. We were leaving the hotel to pick up Ryan Guettler. All of a sudden the airlines were just dropping off my bike, it worked out perfect!

mco-oz3.jpgmco-oz1.jpg We went to two shops today that was awesome. All the kids were stoked they got stickers, shirts and autographs and then we went to two sk8 parks which was cool. Ryan and I rode with everybody and just had a good time. Tommrow I get to ride Ryan’s local park which looks awesome.

Catch ya guys in a few days. PEACE!

New Dave Rytell ad

Sunday, January 20th, 2008

mco-rytell-ad-ride-march-08.jpgGotta love new ads. This one is of Mirraco’s Dave Rytell. He pedals his ass off, hits the wall of the school, rides it for a bit and then pulls off with a 180 and comes out fakie. Rate: fivestar. SF security wasn’t around to stop him which is nice for a change and helps taking photos for ads like this one.

Is Rytell moving to England for a while?

2020 BMX Mag Australia gives out a Black Pearl LTD.!

Saturday, January 19th, 2008

mco-2020gutelens.jpgAustralia has a couple of really good BMX magazines. One of them is 2020 and Mirraco is working together with this mag to promote the Mirraco line. The double page Dave Rytell Mirraco advertisement can be found on pages 26-27 but it’s not only that.

mco-2020-blackpearl-ltd.jpgMirraco Australia have gone bananas by giving away a Black Pearl Limited complete bike in the 2020-Mirraco subscription offer. It’s the Ryan Guettler designed top of the line complete bike with a limited production of 100 pieces.

All you have to do to enter the contest is subscribe to 2020 magazine (which you should do anyway) and you will be entered in the Mirraco subscription giveaway. Your chances of owning a Black Pearl LTD haven’t looked any better. You have to answer one question though but it’s not the hardest one:

mco-2020-rytell.jpgName one of Ryan Guettler’s current sponsors.

Hmmm, maybe Mirraco would work.

One year Australian subscriptions (4 issues) are $A30 delivered to your door. NZ subscriptions contact: emags.co.nz, or contact www.2020bmxmag.com.au for more info.

mco-2020-guettler.jpgThe coverage doesn’t stop there. Ryan has the backcover and also a seven page article about him behind the lens shooting photos.

With Ryan and Spinner going on tour in Australia next week expect to see some more photos in the next issue of 2020.

New Hampshire Rally (update by Dave Mirra)

Wednesday, January 16th, 2008

mco-dm-ralley1.jpgYo. What’s up? I’m getting ready to head up to New Hampshire for my second rally at Tim o’Neal’s rally compound. Really excited. If everything goes good I will be heading to Atlanta, Michigan the next weekend for another rally which is the actual round 1 in the American rally series.

If you follow rally, Travis Pastrana won the championship last year with DC shoes founder Ken Block close behind. So, hopefully I will get to drive two weeks in a row because the bitter sweet is you really can’t practice when you’re not at a rally. The closer the better.

So, how’s everyone’s new year started out? Have you done what you said just before the ball dropped? Well, to be honest I started a little later than I thought but as they say “better late than never”. Ha ha. Anyway, just checking in.
Be safe. Stay strong.
