Update from Dave Mirra

Thursday, January 31st, 2008

mco-dm-ralley1.jpgHi there. Just checking in to let everyone know what’s going on. I recently just got back from my second rally in Dalton, New Hampshire at Tim o’Neal’s rally school. This was an amazing rally and yes it was snow and ice. Very tricky and there were some pretty technical roads that allowed no mistakes.

mco-dm-ralley3.jpgI started out well in stage 1 with a time 4 seconds slower than the fastest time recorded. I was really stoked and it was smooth. Going into the second stage I felt good. I had a little trouble on a hair-pin right at a juction into a very narrow road where I clipped a tree and spun out.

Stage 3 was pretty narrow and with a little understeer I went in a ditch. The thing cool about rally is that other competitors will help pull you out so you can finish. The rule is if someone needs to be pulled out, help, because you never know when it’s your turn. Simple.

mco-dm-ralley2.jpgSo the rally went really well up until the final stage about a mile from the finish. Everything was fine until I relaxed for a second and slid into a ditch hitting a tree. I was out. What a bummer, to say the least. At the end of the day the o’Neal rally was a blast and it was great for the experience.

I head to Michigan in a week for snow drift. Stay tuned and thanks to everyone at Vermont Sports car, Monster, dc shoes and the o’Neal rally for making it an unforgetable weekend.

mco-ms-oz.jpgSo we Flew from Brisbane to Sydney, short hour and a half flight. Straight from the Airport James and Chris (The guys that have been taking us around - Best dudes ever) drop Ryan and I off At the Sydney Bridge. We climbed the bridge which was one of the coolest things I’ve ever done in my life. Then from there we got picked up and went on a nice boat ride in fhe harbor. We went under the Sydney Bridge, one of the coolest things ever. Saw the sunset while we were on the boat; AMAZING!! I’m psyched to say this; In 6 HOURS we Flew over the Sydney Bridge, Drove accross it, Climbed it, And sailed under it HA HA HA.

Ryan Guettler has been collecting work for his portfolio and the cover of the latest Session magazine will fit in there nicely. Ryan shot many more photos in the mag including the TOC and a couple of full pages in the photo section.

The mag also runs a photo of Dave Mirra from the Dew Tour stop in Orlando and the Session crew stopped by the Mirraco booth at Interbike to check out the latest Mirraco bikes and product. The January/February issue should be available at a bookstore near you. www.sessionbmxmag.com

Barbero interview in Cream magazine

Wednesday, January 23rd, 2008

mco-ale-cream4.jpgmco-alessandro-cream1.jpgAlessandro Barbero had a good year (2007). For a while he was on a winning streak. That is the time when Cream magazine from France decided to do an interview with the Italian Mirraco rider.

The six page interview by Riccardo Monti is in both French and English but the photos already explain a bit of what Alessandro is about. Whip to tire tap on the spine to whip-in, check that sequence!
