Mirraco sponsors first BMX comp in Romania

Friday, September 7th, 2007
mco-romania.jpgBMX is worldwide and Mirraco is all about it. On the weekend of 8-9 September next, the Mirraco distributor in Romania is helping out the IORiding event by providing three Mirraco complete bikes for the first ever BMX contest at the best Romanian skatepark. Normally the park is only open for skateboarders and inline skaters but it’s a start to have BMX bikes in there during the contest (no pegs allowed). The BMX park contest will be judged by other riders and also a High Air contest will be held. All Romanian riders are invited to participate. Mirraco in Romania, yup!

mco-dave-oxy.jpgOne of Dave Mirra’s co-sponsors is Oxy and they’ve got a cool website that you should check out. Dave is featured in the “OXY NATION What’s all the Puss about?” comic that you can find somewhere on the site. It takes a bit of searching to get to the comic but if you see that OXY Nation comic laying on the couch, you are getting really close. Take me there

Updates from Rob Wise, Mike Laird and Dave Mirra. By Gator

Thursday, September 6th, 2007
mco-wise-update-sept-07.jpgRob Wise: Hey man I have just been trying to finish filming for the 5050 video, it’s been going pretty good. I’m getting ready to go to the Mexico X games tomorrow mornin. Yippee, hopefully I don’t get mugged or something sucky. If you want to go see a messed up show I would recommend seeing the new Halloween movie. It’ s definitely made by Rob Zombie. Me and my girlfriend just saw it and she made me sleep over at her house after ha. Well when I get back from Mexico I’ll be heading down to Tahoe to watch my friend Brian Purdy get married, good luck buddy. Then Interbike the next week. This month is kinda crazy. That’s it for now. Rob mco-laird-update-sept07.jpgMike Laird: I talked to Laird today and he said that he just got back from doing shows in Alaska. I asked you looking forward to Salt Lake? He replied with “I am looking forward to being home.” Mike is also riding with a herniated disc and possible bulging disc. So he said he is just trying to stay healthy. mco-dave-update-sept07.jpgDave Mirra: What can I say? Everytime I talk to this guy he is learning something new. He told me he is really pumped about Salt Lake and wishes contest were every two weeks. Dave will also be out in Vegas for Interbike. So if you’re in Salt Lake or Vegas, come say what’s up, and also check other team riders out at the Mirra Co. booth in Vegas. Well I’m out I will also be in Salt Lake so see you there……… Gator

Guettler happenings

Wednesday, September 5th, 2007
mco-guettler-tv.jpgHey guys what’ s up. I’m home now and rested. Weekend was good. I went to the ASA comp in Phoenix and placed 3rd behind Stevie (madman) McCann and 1st place was Dennis Enarson who rode sooooooo good. I also pulled a 360 back flip tire grab which I haven’ t done many of (happy). Here are a few small photos from the comp. mco-asa1-lineup.jpgThe Family have bought my website and we’re about to revamp it and make it 10000 times better but it won’t be up until the end of September (can’t wait). mco-asa-diogo.jpgAlso I’m going to Woodward this week for a bit, then to Salt Lake City, then to Interbike in Las Vegas (Vegas baby!). See you at the poker tables. Enjoy, talk real soon. mco-asa-flatland.jpgRyan Guettler

100 page Mirraco Manual

Tuesday, September 4th, 2007
mco-mirraco-manual.jpgLa Finca distribution was giving out the new Mirraco Manual at the Eurobike trade show in Germany. The reactions on the Mirraco magalog were great. It’s a 100 page magazine style catalog which has interviews with Mike Spinner, Dave Mirra, Dave Rytell and Ryan Guettler, a feature on Woodward camp, San Francisco street session report and of course all the 2008 Mirraco bikes. Find a local Mirraco dealer to get your hands on a copy yourself. Use the Dealer Locator to find one.

Barbero wins Oakley-Twenty jam

Tuesday, September 4th, 2007
mco-ale-20jam.jpgAlessandro Barbero won the Oakley-Twenty jam in Albi, France last weekend. The Italian Mirraco rider had fun at the contest which was held on two dirt jumps and a ramp that was a combination of a spine, step-up and quarterpipe (combo style). Congrats to Alessandro. Watch the movie of the event HERE

Guettler makes podium in Phoenix

Monday, September 3rd, 2007
mco-guettler-asa-phx.jpgRyan Guettler had a good feeling going into the Phoenix stop of the ASA world tour. The Australian can handle both dirt jumps and wooden ramps and in Phoenix it was a bit of of two combined. A big roll in lead to two jump boxes with a mellow landing followed by a quarterpipe. The set up was basic and since it was indoors, there were no problems with wind, rain or sunshine in the eyes. After qualifying in second place, Ryan finished in third on Sunday in the finals behind Steve McCann and Dennis Enarson. Pic: ASA
