A few questions for Mike Spinner

Monday, September 17th, 2007

mco-spin-nosewheely.jpgI thought you guys might wanna know what Mike Spinner is thinking about going into the Salt Lake Dew Tour. He didn’t let the cat out of the bag on some things, but if it’s coming from this kid it has to be huge. Also good luck to everyone in Salt Lake. Rep Mirra Co. hard……. Gator

1. You’re going into Salt Lake with a win under your belt. Does that give you extra confidence?

mco-spin-closeup.jpgSpinner: Going into Salt Lake with a win is awesome of course. It kinda boosts your confidence but at the same time I feel like I am not going to change anything. I am going to go into the contest like I always do and just try my best.

2. 720 whips, 900’s, and 1080’s! What new tricks have you been working on?

Mike: I have a few things in the works but you might just have to wait and find out ha ha!!!!!!!

3. What is your current ranking in Dew Tour standings? and are you aiming for first in Orlando?

mco-spin-bike.jpgSpinner: Right now I am in Second place. I am pumped on that. There are two more stops so anything can happen. And I know Dave has been riding hard.

4. Last words?

Spinner: After Portland I’ve been doing so much stuff, went to Florida then back to Woodward with a really good friend of mine, we drove to Greenville NC to hang out with Ryan and Dave and we are about to leave. Expect a story about the trip soon.

mco-bubbabowl.jpgIf you’re around RampRats on Saturday 22 September next, you should check in at the park to ride the bowl for the last time before they remodel the thing.

There are different classes to enter (Grom, Supergrom, Almost Pro, Pro) and the entry fee is 25 bucks for amateur and 50 bucks for pro. Mirraco is supporting the event. They sell Mirraco bikes at the park too. The day starts at noon with the Grom comp and at 6:30pm the pros will ride.

mco-guteramp-indinair2.jpgWhat’s up guys!

Yesterday I had a backyard BBQ and we all rode my new ramp. Every one came out, it was a good time. A friend filmed the lot and it’s going to be on vital.com this week as a spot check. Should look good.

mco-guteramp-flair2.jpgOnly a few more days till I fly out to Salt Lake City for Dew Tour and Interbike. Then I come home for Ryan Nyquist’s wedding. Should be cool time.

Well, enjoy the photos.

Ryan Guettler

mco-mirra-maxxis.jpgThe Blend Park, Blend One and the Blend Two complete bikes come with Maxxis tires and so does the Project 16″. Maxxis have had Dave Mirra’s back for a long time and Dave is in their latest advertisement doing his signature no-handed Zachflip.

Dave Rytell slammed but will be back up soon

mco-daverytell-knee.jpgMy life this week has been pretty busy. I finally got my new place in the UCF area again. It took about a week for everything to go through but we are finally in and living good again… um me and Johnny Devlin from Sputnic bmx and The Shadow Conspiracy have been filming for the new Shadow Conspiracy video. Haha it’s going to be amazing.

Last night we were all riding downtown Orlando and I was doing this 180 stair gap thing and I slammed my knees into the ground and faced it into a fence haha. It was pretty funny but my knee is killing me so today and tomorrow I will be iceing it and then I will be back on that Mirraco!!

BMX Plus! riders of the Year election.

Wednesday, September 12th, 2007

mco-spinner-bmxplus.jpgEvery year BMX Plus! magazine lets their readers vote for Racer of the year, Freestyler of the year and Dirt jumper of the year. Three Mirraco riders are nominated to win the 2007 rider of the year award so make yourself to the local newsstand or BMX shop and buy yourself a copy of the November 2007 issue. Find the official ballot on page 37.

Dirtjumper of the year: Ryan Guettler

Freestyler of the year: Dave Mirra / Mike Spinner

You can vote until 12 January 2008 and you’re free to choose your own rider too (giving the rest of the Mirraco riders a chance). After seeing Mike Spinner’s “Trick of the week” voting skills you should not count him out just yet.

New Mirraco advertisement

Tuesday, September 11th, 2007

New-ad-dave-no-handed-zachf.jpgIf you’re picking up a new issue of a BMX magazine these days you will probably run into this new Mirraco advertisement. It features Dave Mirra on his baby blue Blend at the Dew Tour stop in Cleveland, Ohio.

Sean Hargraves pressed the button of his camera for less than 2 seconds and there you have a sweet sequence of Dave’s 360 no-handed backflip.
