Hey what’s up it’s Dave. I’m a few days behind but I wanted to check in and tell ya about the finals in Portland. I must say that pretty much every final in Portland was off the hook. The level of riding is so amazing right now and If you ever get a chance to check it out live you’ll trip, I promise.

So, anyways going into prelims my attitude was kinda like, ride smooth and see what happens. I ended up qualifying second and I was pretty psyched because I kept it clean and most importantly I stayed on my bike. Very important these days because everyone is so good.

My plan for the finals was the exact same. Get a first run down and see where I stand. I put a really good run together and I was sooo happy. It felt like the old days. My score was posted and I was in the lead but Daniel Dhers still had to go. Daniel rode and they posted his score and I was still in the lead. I couldn’t believe it. Daniel hasn’t been beat all year. Anyway, I was on the leader board and it felt great for a change.

Round 2 was underway and nobody stepped up yet. So then
Spinner’s up next and comes out with a 1080 and I was like, that was it. Spinner threw some big stuff and I knew he would top it. I was really happy for him. First win on the Dew Tour and his dad came to watch him. Winning is everything because I felt awesome with second. Can’t wait till Salt Lake.
Time to get back to riding.
Later.
