I just did a short road trip with Colin Mackay, Allen Cooke, and Chris Doyle. We were still filming for Brian Purdy’s video F this S….
The trip was sweet. Everyone rode good and no one got hurt, I think everyone is going to be surprised with Allen’s section. It’s going to be good. We went to Florida and just rode a lot of schools and found some good street and a few mad cops.
Now I’m back in town. Me and Mackay just shot my new Vans ad and I’ve just been riding with Dave @ warehouse. The new set up rulez since he got rid of the Vert ramp. It’s twice the size.
We’re about to go to Singapore for the Metro jam and then PIG comp.
Later,
Ryan.

When we were asking for photos of you and your Mirraco bike we were expecting something else than what we received from Tawnee. We don’t have no problem with the photo though, hopefully you don’t have a problem with it either.
Now if you have an action shot of you on your Mirraco bike or if you just want to show off your customized Mirraco ride, send the photo to: bart@mirrabikeco.com and you might make it to the Mirraco site just like Tawnee did although she was just posing.

Sometimes it looks easy what is being done on a BMX bike. The best way to find out is to try it yourself. Phil Denham (of Mirraco UK) took a couple of colleagues out for a little lunch session at the local track. They got on the Mirraco bikes and had their fun until people started crashing…..
No one got seriously hurt but next time throwing on a helmet and some pads isn’t a bad idea, especially if they are hitting the local cement park instead of the BMX track.
Safety first and have some fun. Respect to BMX.

When the best of the best get invited to ride a dirt event it’s pretty logical that Ryan Guettler is on that list. The Red Bull Empire of Dirt contest that is on the schedule for 15-16 of June is an event that will drop people’s jaws. It’s a slope style BMX dirt contest with huge obstacles thrown into the mix.
Keep an eye out for Ryan as he will be one of the challengers in the UK come June.
Red Bull Empire of Dirt, the world’s first BMX DIRT SLOPESTYLE contest, is the brainchild of UK rider Kye Forte, and combines influences from each of the BMX styles, to create one unholy new discipline guaranteed to challenge the very best on the planet. “The aim of the Empire of Dirt is to bring together all different aspects of BMX in one contest; to really challenge the rider’s versatility,” says Kye Forte, Newton Abbot local and top UK rider. “We also want to make the week surrounding the event totally memorable - both for the riding, and the social scene - putting Devon on the global BMX map.”
The monstrous Red Bull Empire of Dirt course will take over a month to build, swallow thousands of tons of dirt and will feature an epic dirt superpipe, huge double jumps, and technical street obstacles, including rails, boxes and wall rides.
Like a true slopestyle course, traditionally found in freestyle snowboarding, the course has been designed to offer riders multiple lines, and infinite ways to showcase their skills, and link new combinations of tricks. If the course wasn’t enough to inspire a frenzy of riding creativity - the riders list will top it off: only the best in the world are invited to ride the Red Bull Empire of Dirt. 35 riders - representing the cream of dirt, street and ramp BMX, will come to Newton Abbot, Devon - to ride a course like none they’ve ever ridden before.
Invited riders include the best all-rounders from the UK, USA, Spain, Australia, Germany, France and Canada; including Corey Bohen, Chris Doyle, Morgan Wade, Jamie Bestwick, and the Forte brothers Kye, Leo & Toby. Only the rider with the most talent in all styles will conquer the Empire of Dirt, and get their piece of the £10,000 (USD$19,500) prize purse.
Red Bull Empire of Dirt will be open to the public on Friday 15th and Saturday 16th, June, check out our MySpace for details.
