mco-orl-dave1.jpgThe final stop of the Dew Action Sports Tour marks the end of the competition season, but not really. There are so many events going on these days that it’s hard to simply take a break. Jams, sessions, local comps, shows, international trips, it all matters and the Mirraco guys are on it.

Here are a few photos taken by Sean Hargraves at the last stop of the 2007 Dew Tour in Orlando:

Ryan Guettler had a crash at Dew Tour

Thursday, October 25th, 2007

mco-guettler-orl-update.jpgWhat’s up guys. It’s a few days after Dew tour and I feel like I got hit by a bus… what a big weekend I got there and practice felt so good. I was double flipping and doing my scary tricks and in dirt I qualified 1st into dirt with a big score of 95.25 and pulled a 1080 on dirt which hasn’t been done before.

mco-guettler-orl-update3.jpgSo in the finals I was feeling good. My first run went well and I was in first so Ii felt like there was no way I was going to lose this comp so I went for a double flip on the first set. But I keep telling myself don’t over rotate it and land on my back but when I took off I knew I had flipped way too slow and it wasn’t going to come around.

Then I woke up on that dumb strecher again but this time I could remember everything that went wrong. The doctors did all the test and all I got was a cut on my head, shoulder, elbow and a bad bruse on my hip. I asked if I could ride my last run and they said no because if I crashed again and hit my head then I could end up in a coma which would of been .00005 percent but you never know and I knew that I wouldn’t have held back if they were going to let me ride.

The more I sat there the worse my headache got so I went back to my hotel and slept it off. Doctor said he wouldn’t like me ride street either because it was the same day as the crash so that was the end of the 07 Dew tour for me, it went quick and a lot of great riding riding went down it was cool to sit back and enjoy street and not stress about who placing were and really cheer people on when they did cool stuff.

My fav was Cranmer he did a front flip whip then fell off the course and smashed a camera man. Scotty was so pumped I laughed so hard. Today I joined the Colony team (my co-sponsor). We’re doing a road trip to Baco jam this week end in FL. We’re riding and shooting photos so I’ll post some soon.

Talk soon

Mike Spinner’s Orlando Dew tour 07 recap

Wednesday, October 24th, 2007

mco-spinner-orlando.jpgSo this was the last stop of the AST dew tour in 07 the end of a great season. I Had some goals coming into it but I didn’t think I would ever meet them. The dream goals were to End up in top 3 overall and get trick of the week. The realistic goals were to end up top ten and Get nominated for trick of the week.

THEY WERE successful HA HA HA.

mco-spinner-orl2.jpgI was going in to Orlando Excited but nervous. The first day of practice was amazing after that I was just having a great time, excited about the start of prelims, I found my lines and put it together in Prelims to qualify 2nd. To add to this Orlando stop besides this pretty much being my Home town Jim Ford from Mirraco was there supporting and he helped a lot with the support !!!

mco-orl-spin1.jpgThe day of finals I was feeling great. Right when I got there I had some things to do in practice and I pulled a 1080 in practice 2nd try I was so stoked, I was ready for finals when they came I waited for my song (make it rain) to get louder I dropped in and pretty much did the run I wanted, I was sitting in first till Daniel went (the guy right after me) ha ha.

Second run I tried to up it and I pulled the same run but with no faults plus a 720 whip and a double whip. My score only went up like half a point but I was just sooo stoked.

mco-orl-spin2.jpgOther Highlights Ryan Guettler pulled the first 1080 ever on dirt and Mirra pulled a 3flip nohander perfect !!! in the contest.

This is my first rookie year I got to get 2nd place overall and trick of the year its like a dream right now I am so stoked NOBODY CAN Ever understand !!!

Mirraco stem preview

Wednesday, October 24th, 2007

mco-stem1.jpgOnce a product has been designed it takes a little while before it’s packaged and on the shelve of your local bike shop. Prototyping, tooling, manufacturing, shipping and testing, it’s all part of the production process. Team riders and their friends usually take care of the final testing of a newly designed product so you might take a closer look at the Mirraco riders’ bikes next time you see them. It might just have some unknown parts on it.
