Mirra wins in New ZealandMirraco riders Ryan Guettler, Dave Mirra and Mike Spinner entered the annual X-Air contest last weekend over in New-Zealand. They made the long trip worthwhile by finishing 7th, 1st and 2nd respectively in street. Mike Spinner fills us in on the craziness that went down: “The contest was so amazing. So much stuff went down I’m not even kidding. Long story short, it was jam format. On Mirra’s second run he dislocated his shoulder. Josh Harrington put Mirra’s shoulder back in place and one minute later Dave pulled the best ever 360 backflip no-hander. Just perfect and then continued to do some crazy lines that included a flipwhip and a 10 feet high whip over the spine. Right after that I was so pumped I 7-whipped the box straight into a 900 on a 7ft quarter. I was stoked. In the Best Trick contest, after 4 attempts, I pulled a 1080. SOOO stoked” said Mike. Mirra, Guettler and Spinner in New Zealand. An update by Mike

Dave and Mike on a cliff in New ZealandOn Monday we left North Carolina and 25 hours later we arrived in New Zealand on a Wednesday. It was a crazy flight with 4 connections but somehow we managed. The next day Dave was taken to do some interviews somewhere in Wellington. I tagged along and it was the most Fun Ever!!! That's funnyWe drove on a test track, hit some golf balls, shot guns at some targets in the air and went in a helicopter for the first time in my life while Dave semi flew it, HAHAHA. Other than that I rode practice after that. On Friday we rode the practice for a few hours and Dave, Ryan and I did a quick autograph signing that was pretty cool. The kids were stoked and In a few hours prelims happens so I will let you guys know how it goes down. Goot-Spinner-Mirra Mike Spinner. Enjoy the shots by Mike Spinner. He’s on a mission with his new camera.

Ryan Guettler Vans ad video

Superman flair for realIt takes some effort for the riders to come up with new photo and video material. Usually some travel is involved but also they want to push their personal level to show what they’ve got. When Ryan Guettler was shooting for the Vans advertisement he had this superman flair to downside tailwhip in mind. No he didn’t pull it first try but he got the job done in the end. Visit the VANS website for a video of the photoshoot and all new “Goot” photos. Photo by: Vans.com

Black Pearl 3 rated 9.0 by RIDEBMX magazine

Monday, February 5th, 2007
Black Pearl 3 rated 9.0 by RIDEBMX magazineMatt Colisch put the Mirraco Black Pearl 3 through the test for RIDEBMX magazine. The April 2007 issue has the report on the test and the Black Pearl got rated a 9.0 by the test force. Some of the strong points of the bike were: “The dialed, full-chromoly frame and the out-of-the-box dialed brakes. The bars were not a pain for once with a test bike…….. That was a first in a really long time [laughs]. The front wheel was amazing and held together really well, and the back wheel stayed pretty straight; I only had to true it up once after riding.” stated Matt Colisch. He finished off the test report by recommending the bike to anyone from a beginner to a pro and rated it a 9.0. Check RIDEBMX.
