Thursday, December 7th, 2006
We want to answer a stack of questions at once by posting this Frequent Asked Questions (FAQ) list. If you have an other question, feel free to get in touch. For now, here is the list. You might even learn something about Mirraco that you did not already know.
-How do I find a dealer?
Check the dealer locator on the site and type in a zip code or country. Keep in mind that we will be adding new dealers for the next year so there will be frequent updates.
-What is Mirraco’s relationship with Trek?
We appointed Trek as our exclusive distributor so many Trek dealer’s worldwide will be selling Mirraco. Dealer’s who are not Trek dealers will be selling Mirraco and some Trek dealers will not be selling Mirraco, so the Mirraco dealer locator will be the best way to see where you can find the bikes.
-Will Mirraco bikes be sold by mail order companies?
No. Mail order and Internet sales are not a part of the plan. You can blame it on the lawyers, they’re worried about inexperienced consumers assembling bikes incorrectly.
-When will bikes be available?
Virtually all models except the limited editions are available now.
-When will frames be available?
We expect to have frames in stock by February.
-When will parts be available?
Parts will begin arriving in early 2007.
-What is the warranty on the bikes?
Lifetime on the frame and one year on the parts to the original owner.
-What do I do if I have a warranty problem?
Take your bike or the part back to the dealer you purchased the bike from. Hold on to your original receipt because the dealer will probably want to see it.
-What are the bike weights?
We’ll publish weights on our website when we’ve had a chance to weigh production bikes.
-What are the frame weights?
Our goal is to have all aftermarket frames weigh under five pounds.
-Will you be selling anything on line?
Yes. Various promotional goods will be sold on line directly by Mirraco beginning in early 2007.
-Why are there no cassettes on mid-range bikes?
Sealed bearing cassettes are too expensive and we don’t believe loose ball cassettes offer acceptable quality. We believe freewheels are more reliable and perform better on mid-range bikes.
-What riders are going to be on the European team?
We are still working on putting together a team of European riders.
-Are you going to make a BMX race frame?
No.
-Are you going to do a 26” jump bike?
No. Not unless our team starts entering jumping contests.
