When Vital BMX launched this summer they had big plans. 6 months later and they’re one of the top BMX websites to visit. We have supported the website from the start and have maintained the Mirraco section at the same time. In the last week of December Vital announced the BEST OF 2006 winners and Mirraco was in there twice.
Vital BMX Top Profiles of 2006:
3. Mirraco
This is hands-down the most updated Profile on Vital BMX. The Mirraco blog is constantly growing with photos and specs of products, interviews with riders, and more. The Mirraco Profile is also packed with riding photos, chillin’ photos, and all of the Mirraco ads. Very impressive.
Vital BMX Top videos of 2006:
5. Mirraco Session at Rye Airfield
When Mirra Bike Co. let me tag along on their trip to Rye Airfield, the main reason was to get photos. I brought a video camera, too, and just grabbed a few shots here and there because it was too wild of an experience not to get any footage. Mike Spinner said he had a few tricks that were more video than photo, and the quick session he produced was unreal. I thought about saving the clips for his interview, but I wanted to get the footage out quickly. I edited the video on the flight back home, and Mirraco said I could post it the next day. The video has been steadily moving up the Most Viewed list, and I’m guessing it’s not done yet.

It took a while but the Dave Mirra BackChat appears in DIG BMX magazine # 56. Part of the intro reads: “In a ’sport’ that hasn’t entirely entered the public fold, Dave Mirra transcended boundaries and broke into the mainstream as a true representative of the BMX lifestyle.
He’s won hundreds of big comps, hosted a TV show on MTV and continues to pioneer his brand of burly riding on park, street and vert. After many years under the Haro badge, Dave broke away earlier this year to start Mirraco Bikes, stating that it was “Time to give back.”
When asked what his strength is Mirra answered: “Confidence is my strength. I couldn’t imagine life without it. The world is a tough place, especially when you have something that someone else wants.”
Obviously the BackChat had more questions than one. To read the full chat, get your hands on DIGBMX # 56.

The Flipside DVD is out and it contains a lot of Mirraco riders. We are even sponsoring that Glenn Milligan production. When the world as you know it is suddenly reversed, you’ve entered a place called the Flipside. The 12th feature film from RideBMX, this latest installment documents the encounters of four virtually unknown but immensely talented street riders on their quest from NYC to Greenville, North Carolina, to hang with some of the best pros in the sport.
The roles are then reversed when the pros visit the city to ride street. Watch as BMX street up-and-comers Nigel Sylvester, E-man, Blackman, and more hit Pro-Town, USA to ride with the likes of Dave Mirra, Mike Spinner, Mike Laird and Josh Harrington. The four riders hang-out, golf, and learn some of the tricks of the trade from with the Miracle Man himself in one of the most unique and entertaining films ever to hit the sport.
Directed by Glenn PP Milligan and sponsored by MirraCo and GT Bicycles, Flipside features some of the most progressive and talented riders in the sport including Dave Mirra, Josh Harrington, Dave Dillewaard, Mike Spinner, Blackman, Nigel Sylvester, E-Man and more.

A few months ago we started a Mirraco myspace site. In times where people check their myspace before checking their e-mail, we thought it was a good idea to cater to that group (over 140 million people). Next to Tom, we’ve signed up over 860 “friends”.
We had no specific goal in mind but let’s see if we can make it to 1000 friends before the end of the year. Tell your buddies about it and if you haven’t signed up as a Mirraco friend, this is the moment. We added new photos last week.

Check it out!

Nigel Sylvester was over in LA for a bit to finish up some filming and check in with Jean-Luc Ferre at Mirraco to finetune his ‘08 Chocolate frame. While in the sun Nigel didn’t waste any time and filmed with Glenn Milligan and Rooftop which resulted in an awesome clip that can be viewed over at Vital BMX.

Cleveland: I wish I had some good news. Cleveland should be on VH1 worst week ever. Someone hacked into his myspace page and the car I talked about last week, someone decided to drive into the back of it. So with that said it would be safe to say he’s not psyched. If you see Cleveland give him a hug, I’m sure he needs it. lol
Laird: Is about to start building the kids section at Jaycee with Jeremy Fanburg. If it’s anything like the park you should see some smiles on some kids’ faces. Oh and did I mention Laird has been killing it lately. So look forward to some pics.
Rytell: told me that he’s been taking family photos with his mom and his dog buddy. He also informed his wrist still hurts and wont get checked because there is not a doctor under the rock he stays under. Feel better soon!
Mirra: Has been out at the Warehouse putting the hammer to work trying to get it half way rideable for the upcoming cold weather. He is also getting ready for the trip to Estonia he will be taking with Laird and Spinner.
Spinner: is spending 10 days in Las Vegas riding and hanging with some good friends. I also want to thank Spinner personally on the lookout on some concerns he had. Good lookin.
Gator: I just got into West Palm with my good friends Jordan Villona and Stephen Lilly. I’m also looking forward to all the things we are doing in 07′ for Mirra Co. To everyone Happy Holidays from everyone at the Mirra Co. Family
Guettler and Nigel: update will be in tomorrow.

At Mirraco we’ve finished a whole line of Mirraco hoodies, longsleeves and T-shirts. Several prints, several colours and most sizes. The folks at Vital BMX have a feature on the Mirraco clothing up on their website. While you’re out there, check the three Mirraco related movies at the bottom of the article. Worth a visit for sure.
Click this link, it will take you there.
