Guettler’s personal Black Pearl lightest of them all?
The October issue of BMX Plus! magazine just came out and they did an article on “The weight of Performance.” The BMX Plus! staff brought a scale to a contest and weighed the pro’s bikes that were present. With weight being a hot topic these days we were wondering how Ryan Guettler’s personal Mirraco Black Pearl was ranked among the other bikes.
Turns out that Ryan had the lightest bike of them all! Before you go out and buy a Black Pearl Ltd. and put it on a scale, we have to say that our riders are constantly changing parts to help them perform the best they can. Prototype parts are being tested by our riders, titanium parts are used to save some weight and if a new part comes out that simply works better, they will put that on their personal bike. Needless to say, the personal bikes that Dave Mirra and Ryan Guettler ride can differ from the Limited models that Mirraco sells. It doesn’t take away that the Limited edition Black Pearl and Blend are well spec’d pro caliber machines that can take anybody’s riding to the next level.

haha, i kind of figured that ryan’s bike was the lightest. i looked it up online and did a ranking for myself, and his bike was the lightest out of all the hundreds of bikes i looked at. last time i heard it was around 23 lbs, and i was going crazy trying to figure out how to lighten mine down from 27!
