Explanation on Mirraco pricing

Dave rytell´s fivestarWe let visitors to the Mirraco site leave comments to the articles and express their concerns. Some of you are questioning the pricing of the bikes like the person below. Find Mirraco´s reply at the bottom which explains a couple of things.

“I think you guys have priced the bikes high. There are too many other bikes on the market for less when BMX sales have taken a down swing. Poor business choice… However, 850.00 for the LTD’s would make more sense and be more in line with the current market.”

Mirraco replies:

A few words about pricing. We’re publishing prices on the site because we get so many requests to know what each bike costs. By law, in the US we can’t tell dealers what price to sell our bikes for, so if you call a local dealer the price they give you might be a little higher or a little lower than what we have listed on the site.

The goal at Mirraco is not to have the lowest priced bikes. We’re concerned about value not price; in other words what you get for the price we charge. Our plan is to build them right and charge a fair price. We’d rather be on the expensive side and sell a product we don’t have to make excuses for than sell a ton of cheap bikes at Wal-Mart prices.

The prices shown on this site are subject to change without notice. That’s because parts makers may raise their prices, we may have to change a part or supplier unexpectedly, fuel costs fluctuate, and because the US dollar’s value compared to other currencies changes daily. It sounds complicated, but we’re just trying to be up-front and keep you informed.

One last note - Prices in other countries will almost always be higher than what you see here because of expensive ocean freight, customs fees, and other costs distributors have to deal with when bikes are imported into different countries.

if you wnat a descent bike your gonna pay a descent price for it. the prices that were listed weren’t bad at all if you take time to look at the specs of the bike. crazy!

  2. scotty dowdal Says:

just a comment on the price who ever posted about the bad price for the LTDs must not have read the parts list.
dude you get top line parts, just part it out at any online bmx mail order and you will pay well over a 1200 to 1500$ I was stoked on the price thats a top of the line bike for the Blend and the black pearl and you guys thave a good line up, top of the line all the way to low buget thats awsome good job Mirra. keep it up I’mgetting a blend LTD oh ya tell that kid to find a full on top of the line with that parts list for under that price (you will not )
    keep rockin Mirraco

  3. Ho Says:

I agree. I would rather pay a little bit more and not have to worry about the bike falling apart on me. If someone buys a frame and builds it up, it’s going to cost more than an LTD, so, I think you are saving people some time and money. Just a frame and a good wheel set will cost $800 or $900. The rest of the parts come to $500 or $600. So you’re saving people a few hundred dollars and time it takes to put a bike together.

If you decide to start dealing with Monopoly money be sure to let Dave handle all of the business as he is, without a doubt, the best Monopoly player ever. On a more serious note I agree that it’s quality, not the cost, that’s important. After all, that is what Mirraco is all about, making great bikes that can always be backed by the name of a legend. Thanks for sticking to the principles.

  5. will Says:

    i agree with the pricing
you get what you pay for

  6. Troy Says:

Like the old saying goes….”Garbage in…Garbage out”. I will always pay more for quality. I agree with your approach. I bet “wally world” has a perfect bike for you man. As for me, I’m just glad our local dealer won’t see any Blends untill October. I’m glad because that gives me time to save up and buy a quality bike(like a mirraco) instead of garbage. Keep up the good work.

  7. j mirra Says:

Ive been riding bikes for a long time and I have had alot of different frames and alot of different parts and yes you do get what you pay for. Ask Dave how many times we have traded parts or frames or broke something we picked up for a cheap price to save money. Buy something that will last. This is a great product he has going.

  8. Chelsea B. Says:

yeah, at least you dont have to worry about the bike falling apart the second you crash. you know youre getting a good deal…even if some of us younger riders dont have that kind of money to spend :)

  9. max Says:

I didnt see a problem with the price list. All the prices were reasonable.

  10. richard Says:

very cool but i dont have that much money to spend on a bike, my bike would be ag but still not that much. i dont have $1.099 for abike but still very sick

  11. Nick Ebie Says:

I think that they r a good price

  12. Josh Says:

When are you gonna do bike checks for Ryan Guettler and Dave Mirra i wanna see there whips

  13. woody Says:

prices are good each bike is as good as they look ive personally woirked on each one and can honestly say there way worth it

  14. richard Says:

But mabey I would dish out $540 for a blend 3. Than upgrade the rear hub to a cassete, new gearing 30 over 11. Then You would be set. Do you guys have decent grips cuz almost all stock grips suck.

  15. ben Says:

i love the looks of the black pearl ltd, if i didnt already have a nice bike, id save money and jump on that in a second, its a great price for all those odyssey parts profile style cranks and everything, let alone that the black pearl frame looks amazing judging by epic bmxs site, keep it up, i was origionally skeptical cause haro was so bad, i owned one, a mirra 540, and it was a piece of shit, heavy and bad, but these new bikes, parted, would be worth alot more than ur estimates, i think its great that u guys are going for quality and not price, btw, u should make the black pearl ltd in lhd as well for ppl like me who grind on the right side mainly or only, although im able to grind both sides, either way, keep it up davey boy, their looking amazing, and please put out the frames soon with specs and other parts as well, id love to check them out

  16. Chipper Says:

You guys are going to put alot of bike companies in a world of hurt (haro). Thanks for making great bikes that are priced right.
Please get Mirra to come to New England!!(Rye Airfield)

  17. karl m Says:

these bikes are awsum! da pricing is so worth the parts that come with the bike im mean cumon SNAFU parts r jst awsum!!!!! if i had enough money id buy 1 of these rite now

  18. Leon Says:

Well i couldnt believe the spec list to be honest, i don’t even need to see the price to tell there good value for money. Just hope it doesn’t take too long for them to arrive on the shores of the UK?!

  19. JAKE CHELL Says:

hey dose anyone know when they are going to start selling the black pearl frame or how much it will cost for just the frame

  20. Mike Hooson Says:

I think the blend LDT is a sick bike with the snafu componets. Even thow it cost over 1000$ Who nows I might half to get one.

  21. Josh Says:

My guess is fall ‘06, maybe Christmas…..as for price, they don’t seem to care about competitive pricing..so…anywhere from 250-400$. The frame’s are reeeaaaallly nice, but I’d like to know if they’d hold up on street. Also, I’m very curious (if anyone knows, feel free to enlighten me) how they managed to get so many different component companies to stock the bikes, most companies go with one, maybe two, but Mirraco’s rockin Odyssey, Fly, MacNeil (pivitol-..whatever), Snafu, Colony…it’s awesome, and the reason why the prices are higher, but..I just wanna know how they did that without other companies getting competitve.

  22. Smitty Says:

Jake, if you have to ask you can’t afford it!
    LOL, your homie, Smitty

  23. arnold Says:

    arnold us coast gaurd

  24. jk Says:

where can i find the prices

  25. Tyler Says:

    Hello Mirraco.
I was just thinking that weight is important to a rider so i think your guys should post the weight of the bikes you sell.

  26. Dan Bless Says:

The prices are great! You Barely need to upgrade the LTD at all. This is a really good price in the long run.

  27. Eric Says:

hey i was just curious this is kinda offtopic for pricing, but what are the weights of the bikes?

  28. Matt Says:

Hell yeh gotta get me a black pearl ltd when they get to Australia, they are way good value for money in Aus if u bought all the black pearl ltd seperatly it would be worth around Aud$2500-$3000

  29. Sean Says:

Guys, we have had endless requests on the bike weights. We will post the weights when we receive the final production bikes in the coming week or so. We don’t want to post incorrect numbers from sample bikes that end up being incorrect. The bikes that we will be weighing will be actual production bikes and will be spot on the numbers. Once we complete that, we will post the weights.

    thanks-

    SH, Mirraco

  30. Kyle Says:
